Lets talk about Leadership Development!
This year it is hard for us to plan and execute our normal service projects, so instead, focus on developing your inner leader. Include "family group sessions" on zoom to bond with your StuCo. Try to make the best of this situation!
Online Workshop Ideas:
This month we will work on enhancing our workshops to make them more fun and interactive to our aspiring leaders:
~ Icebreaker! It's totally natural to be slightly reserved around people we just met, so you want to make sure everyone knows that they are in a safe environment and are comfortable sharing their ideas. Make sure this icebreaker is quick, and fun!
~ Make your presentation colorful! If you are presenting a set of slides or PowerPoint presentation, make sure you add that extra splash of color to make it visually appealing to your viewers.
~ Add some humor! Adding in a few jokes will make these sessions a whole lot more fun! Don't take it too seriously! Remember we are all humans, we all make mistakes!
~ Try to relate to your viewers! Bring up a topic (that relates to what you are talking about - nothing controversial) that may be well known and get the opinions of others. Throughout this activity, make sure everyone is respecting each other's opinions and listening to each other.
~ Most of all, be confident! Be yourself! Nobody is there to judge. If you put your best into it, you will do an amazing job. Remember even if you make a mistake, you will learn from it and will probably not make the same mistake again.
Membership engagement:
District Conference is going virtual!! It will be taking place on October 24, 2020. It will from 1:00 - 4:00. To join you HAVE to be a member school. There is a $25 fee, and it is totally worth it! We look forward to seeing at the District Conference!
