Spreading Joy to the People Around You:
The holidays are all about spreading cheer to the people around you. One way you can do this is by visiting an assisted living center with your student council! Set up a date and time and take a small group of students to go caroling. This is sure to garner smiles from not only the elderly, but the students too!
A Season of Giving:
Share your generosity by setting up a holiday gift drive in your school! There are many people in our community who are less fortunate and need a helping hand this winter season. Each grade can focus on a certain topic. For example, one grade could focus on toys, another on women's items and lastly, men's items. This way you can receive a large variety of items that cater to one's needs.
Charities to Remember:
Sometimes finding the right charity to donate to can be a very difficult job. North Gwinnett Middle School has donated to a variety of charities and one we would like to share with you is the Toys for Tots Foundation.
- Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents are not able gift them something this holiday season. Visit their website to learn more about Toy drop sites and ways you can contribute.
End-of-Semester Feedback:
With the end of the first semester approaching, what a great time to ask for feedback from your student council members. Simply, set up a survey asking questions about what they like and don't like about student council and what the student council can do to improve. This will give ideas about what the student council can improve on when the new year comes along.
